What is TTLock?


TTLock is a smart lock management system that allows users to control their locks via Bluetooth or WiFi through the TTLock App. It supports features like:

  • Remote unlocking
  • Keyless access via fingerprint, passcode, NFC, Facial Recognition or mechanical key
  • Temporary access for guests
  • Real-time access logs

It integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for voice control and automation.

TTLock Troubleshooting Guide

 

General Troubleshooting


1. Check for Physical Damage

  • Inspect the lock for loose screws, damage, or tampering.
  • Ensure the sensor and latch mechanism are unobstructed.


2. Restart Your TTLock

  • Remove the batteries, wait 60 seconds, then reinsert them.
  • If using a WiFi Gateway, unplug it for 30 seconds and restart.


3. Reset the Lock (Last Resort)

  • Press and hold the reset button (usually inside the battery cover) for 10 seconds until the LED flashes green.
  • Warning: This will erase all settings. You’ll need to re-add the lock in the app.


Connectivity Issues

 

4. Bluetooth Connection Problems

If the app won’t connect via Bluetooth:

  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
  • Stay within 2 metres of the lock.
  • Restart your phone and try again.


5. WiFi & Internet Problems

If using a WiFi Gateway but the lock won’t respond remotely:

  • Check if your WiFi is working.
  • Restart your WiFi router and TTLock Gateway.
  • Ensure the gateway is within 5 metres of the lock.
  • Try reconnecting the lock to the gateway in the TTLock app.


Access Issues

 

6. Fingerprint Not Recognised

  • Ensure the sensor is clean and dry.
  • If your finger is wet or cold, dry and warm it before trying again.
  • Re-register your fingerprint under better lighting conditions.


7. Passcode Not Working

  • Check if the passcode is expired (temporary codes have a time limit).
  • Verify the lock’s internal clock is correct (TTLock App > Settings > Lock Clock > Calibrate Time).
  • Reset the passcode in the app and try again.


8. NFC Card Not Working

  • Ensure the card is registered to your TTLock.
  • Try a different angle when tapping the card.
  • If still unresponsive, delete and re-add the NFC card in the TTLock app.

 

Power & Battery Issues


9. Lock Not Responding? Check the Batteries

  • Use high-quality batteries .
  • If the lock is slow to respond, replace all 4 batteries.
  • If the keypad isn’t lighting up, press and hold the keypad for 5 seconds to wake it.


10. Backup Power (9V Battery)

  • If the lock is completely unresponsive, try using a 9V battery on the emergency power contacts.


TTLock App Issues

 

11. TTLock App Won’t Open or Crashes

  • Update the TTLock app via Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  • Restart your phone and try again.


12. App Cannot Pair with Lock

  • Ensure Bluetooth is on.
  • Try pairing with a different phone.
  • If still failing, reset the lock and re-add it.


13. Can’t Link TTLock to Google Home or Alexa

  • Ensure your WiFi Gateway is online.
  • Restart your Google Home/Alexa device.
  • Unlink and relink TTLock from the smart assistant’s app.


Weather-Related Issues (UK Specific)

 

14. Lock Not Working in Cold Weather

  • Extreme cold can affect batteries. Use high-quality Energizer Lithium AA batteries for winter.
  • If the lock is slow, warm the battery compartment with your hands or a cloth.


15. Keypad Unresponsive in Rain

  • Dry the touchpad surface before use.
  • If the touchpad still doesn’t respond, try using NFC or fingerprint unlocking instead.


WiFi Gateway Issues

 

16. TTLock Gateway Not Connecting

  • Ensure the WiFi signal is strong near the gateway.
  • Restart the gateway by unplugging it for 30 seconds.
  • If the issue persists, reset the gateway and re-add it to the app.
