    Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ArdanShield’s website, products, supply services, and access control solutions.

    Effective Date: 28 April 2026

These terms may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.

ArdanShield supplies smart lock and access control solutions across residential, rental, hospitality, and commercial settings. Depending on the project, we may provide supply-only products or coordinate partner-delivered commercial systems.

    1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our website, placing an order, requesting a quotation, accepting a proposal, or purchasing from ArdanShield, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use our website or purchase our products or services.

    2. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will take effect when published on this page unless otherwise stated.

Continued use of our website or services after updates are published will be treated as acceptance of the updated terms.

    3. ArdanShield’s Operating Model

ArdanShield operates as a supplier, sourcing partner, access solution provider, and project coordinator.

Depending on the order or project, we may provide:

    • Smart lock and access control product supply
    • Supply-only solutions
    • Commercial product sourcing
    • Partner-delivered access control systems
    • Project coordination and supplier liaison

Unless expressly agreed in writing, ArdanShield does not act as the manufacturer, installer, commissioning engineer, electrical contractor, fire safety consultant, building control adviser, or technical certifier.

    4. Eligibility

To use our website and purchase from ArdanShield, you must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a parent or guardian.

    5. Products, Descriptions and Availability

We aim to provide accurate product descriptions, specifications, images, pricing, compatibility information, and availability information.

However, we do not warrant that all product descriptions, specifications, pricing, images, or availability information will be error-free, complete, or continuously available.

We reserve the right to correct errors, update information, amend pricing, refuse orders, or discontinue products without notice where necessary.

    6. Ordering and Payment

When placing an order, you agree to provide accurate and complete information.

Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase unless separate written payment terms have been agreed.

For commercial, bulk, supply-only, or partner-delivered system projects, payment terms may be confirmed separately within a quotation, invoice, proposal, order confirmation, or project agreement.

    7. Installation Responsibility

Smart locks and access control products must be correctly selected, installed, configured, and maintained to function safely and reliably.

Unless installation is expressly included in writing, all installation, configuration, compliance, maintenance, and system suitability checks are the responsibility of the purchaser, property owner, installer, or appointed contractor.

ArdanShield accepts no responsibility for issues caused by:

    • Incorrect installation
    • Door misalignment or structural movement
    • Unsuitable door or frame conditions
    • Electrical wiring faults
    • Improper door preparation
    • Non-compliant installations
    • Improper configuration or misuse

    8. Fire Safety, Building Regulations and Compliance

Unless expressly stated in a product description, quotation, proposal, or written agreement, ArdanShield does not advertise, certify, or represent supplied products as fire-rated, fire-door compliant, escape-route compliant, or suitable for regulated life-safety applications.

The purchaser, property owner, responsible person, installer, or appointed professional is responsible for confirming suitability and compliance before installation.

This may include checking fire safety requirements, building regulations, insurance conditions, landlord requirements, local authority requirements, licensing obligations, and any site-specific compliance duties.

If fire compliance, building control approval, insurance approval, or escape-route suitability is required, written confirmation should be obtained from a qualified professional before purchase or installation.

    9. Commercial, Rental and High-Use Environments

Where products are used in rental, HMO, hotel, serviced accommodation, office, shared-access, or other high-use environments, increased wear, inspection, adjustment, and maintenance should be expected.

ArdanShield is not responsible for operational losses, guest disruption, labour costs, emergency call-outs, revenue loss, rental income loss, or business interruption arising from product use, installation, maintenance, or third-party system issues unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

    10. Partner-Delivered Systems

Where ArdanShield coordinates a partner-delivered commercial system, the relevant third-party provider may supply, install, commission, configure, train users, support, and warrant the system subject to their own terms, limitations, certifications, and technical requirements.

ArdanShield may act as commercial coordinator or sourcing partner, but this does not make ArdanShield the manufacturer, installer, commissioning engineer, or certifying authority.

Additional commercial terms may apply to partner-delivered system projects.

    11. Shipping and Delivery

We will ship products to the address provided at checkout or agreed in writing.

Delivery times are estimates only and may vary depending on product type, fulfilment location, courier performance, customs, supplier timelines, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Please review our Delivery & Returns Information for further details.

    12. Returns and Warranty

Returns are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy and our Delivery & Returns Information.

Product defects are governed by our Warranty Policy.

Manufacturing defects may be covered. Installation errors, misuse, unsuitable doors, door misalignment, lack of maintenance, high-traffic wear, structural issues, poor fitting, environmental damage, software misuse, battery issues, and unauthorised modifications are not normally considered product faults.

    13. Cloud, App and Connectivity Services

Some products may integrate with third-party cloud platforms, mobile applications, gateways, remote access services, APIs, PMS integrations, or online management tools.

These services may depend on third-party providers, internet access, local WiFi/network conditions, app availability, software updates, subscriptions, platform compatibility, and provider service continuity.

ArdanShield does not guarantee uninterrupted connectivity, remote access availability, third-party platform availability, future app compatibility, API access, integration availability, or future third-party pricing unless expressly agreed in writing.

    14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ArdanShield’s liability is limited to the purchase value of the product or service supplied by ArdanShield under the relevant order.

ArdanShield shall not be liable for:

    • Installation or removal costs
    • Emergency locksmith fees
    • Loss of revenue, rental income, or business interruption
    • Regulatory penalties, enforcement action, or insurance disputes
    • Fire safety breaches or building control issues caused by installation decisions
    • Third-party workmanship, installer errors, or contractor decisions
    • Electrical faults, network faults, internet issues, or third-party platform outages
    • Indirect, consequential, or operational losses

Nothing in these Terms of Service limits liability where it cannot legally be limited under applicable law.
